Santa Fe Colonial Hotel is located in Santa Fe de Antioquia, which is the oldest town in the region. It was founded in 1541 and prospered in the days of Spanish Colonial rule. The town is located north of Medellin , on the road to Turbo. The historic center is breathtaking and a stroll through the old streets gives you the chance to admire the many decorated doorways of the houses, the patios full of flowers and the carved wooden guards. The doors of the old colonial houses are enormous, fit for a giraffe. Main sights include the Iglesia de Santa Barbara, the Museo del Corral and the Museo de Arte Religioso. Six km east of town is the Puente de Occidente, an unusual bridge over the Rio Cauca, which was built by a famous engineer. It was one of the first suspension bridges in the world and possibly the first in South America. About the Hotel Set in Santa Fe, west of Medellín, Santa Fe Colonial is a vacationer's dream. Elegant Spanish colonial architecture is one of the highlights of the hotel. Comfortable, air-conditioned units are equipped with cable television and laundry facilities. Guests can lounge by the pool and gaze at palm trees, dine on local cuisine at the two restaurants, unwind at the spa, and play tennis - all right on-site at the resort. Close by are venues for water skiing, fishing, and horseback riding, plus live nighttime entertainment.
