Surfing Colombia:
Be one the first to surf the epic
waves of Colombia
 Arriving
at a Colombia surf spot that is most likely completely unchartered surf territory
is very exciting, and surfing in Colombia will very often give you this
very sensation. In Colombia, you are going to find the best
surfing in Colombia on the Pacific coastline of the country although there are some
surf spots on the Caribbean side as well. And for those that thrive on the power
of epic size waves, we've found surf breaks in Colombia that have names such
as: Pico de Loro(Parrot's beak) Pela-Pela (Peel-peel),Juan Tornillo
(Juan screw) and El Derrumbe, the latest one is El Chorro (the stream)
which has
powerful right at a unique spot.
When you start planning to come surfing in Colombia you need to keep in
mind that the waves come from the south west between April and December and from the north or
northeast in January and February. The southwest waves are higher, except when
they casually come from the north of the Pacific in January an February.
Also note that Ada airlines will only take boards as long as they don't exceed the 6' 9''.
When your are surfing on the pacific coast of Colombia, the best surf breaks are at places only accessible by boat
and where you will often find yourself the only one in the water. For this reason
when you are looking the price of our Colombia surf tours you need to take into
account the cost of the boat rides out per
day in addition to your stay at the Ecolodge.
In order to reduce the cost a surf trip to Colombia, we often
advise people, to travel in groups whenever possible in order to share
the cost. If that is not possible, let us know and one of our Colombia
Surf advisors will see if they can put you together with some others who
are going at the same time as yourselves.
