Visit
to the San Felipe Castle + La Popa Monastery:
Tour of the city traveling through residential neighborhoods along
Cartagena Bay, visit to La Popa and its monastery and the Virgen de la
Candelaria Chapel. A panoramic view of the city will be admired from
this point. Visit to the Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas fortress,
the greatest military engineering work of the New World. Visit to the
Las Bovedas craft Center, ending with a sample of emeralds work at a
jewelry store.
Visit to the La Popa
Monastery + San Felipe Castle + San Pedro Claver Church:
San
Pedro Claver Church: The San Pedro Claver Cloister, with its
half-point arches and its beautiful church in honor of Pedro Claver, the
protector of slaves. The Museo de la Marina (Marine Museum) operates in
the rear of the building, where most of the history that took place in
the Cartagena Ocean can be seen.
Visit to the Rafael Nuñez
House + Santa Catalina Bastion + Gold Museum + San Pedro Claver Church:
Rafael
Nuñez House:
One of the most illustrious Cartagenians of all times lived and died at
this house of the El Cabrero neighborhood, which belonged to his wife
Soledad Román Polanco. Four times president of Colombia, author of the
National Anthem and responsible for the 1886 Constitution. He lived in
a spectacular West Indian style mansion.
Santa
Catalina Bastion:
Located at the Las Tenazas Bastion. Recently restored. A fresh water
well and armaments of the time were found in it.
Gold
Museum:
The Gold Museum is located in a beautiful colonial house in front
of the Bolivar Plaza. Valuable pieces of the El Dorado period are
on display. The most complete archaeological sample of the
pre-Hispanic cultures that populated the Colombian territory can be
seen. The museum is closed on Mondays.
Chiva Rumba
Nighttime tour in
the well-known colored buses known as Chivas, with native rum open bar,
music group on board and tasting of Cartagenian fried dishes at a
popular place, ending at a discotheque where one can enjoy Cartagena’s
night life.
Islas del Rosario Tour:
One hour tour
crossing the Cartagena Bay and ending at the beautiful Rosario Islands.
Stay at a private island with a typical lunch (coconut rice, fried fish,
banana chips, salad and beverage), fruit buffet.
Barú Portonaito Day Tour:
Tour to the
white-sand beaches of the island of Barú onboard the yacht Lola.
Includes guide, entertainer, nautical sports, open bar, special lunch,

Carriage
Serenade:
We will travel
the narrow streets and plazas of colonial Cartagena on a horse-drawn
carriage and in the company of a known saxophonist. Wine and food can be

Volcano Tour +
Mangrove Swamp Canoe Tour:
Departure to
the 45-minutes trip to the Volcan del Lodo (Mud Volcano) on the road
from Cartagena to Barranquilla where you will enjoy a healthy mud bath.
You will be able to swim at the El Totumo lake.
Canoe ride through
the La Cienaga de la Virgen mangrove swamps on the way back. A great
diversity of birds such as the Kingfisher, White Heron, Nocturnal Heron,
Common Laura, Pink Spatula and Pelicans live in it. Duration: 5 hours
Tour to the
Botanical Garden and visit to the Reptilians Farm:
Departure to the
Botanical Garden to see the broad variety of flora and fauna of the
region. Later departure to the Babillas farm (small alligators) where
one can enjoy a paso-fino horse show and pictures with the boa
constrictor and the sloth. While there, you will find the “babillas”
tank, which are fed at their habitat. Duration: 3 ½ hours. |
