LETICIA AMAZON ADVENTURE VACATION

The Amacayacú river offers another
great exploration opportunity. The Amacayacú national park is perfect for
becoming acquainted with the palafitte dwellings of the Indians, biological
stations, river paths for excursions in search of caimans, and virgin
islands where, once more, the Victoria Regia abounds. Several paths through
the jungle lead to Indian settlements. Palmeras, a Tikuna Indian community
is small and rarely visited.
AMAZON TOUR ITINERARY:
1st Day
Bogota to Leticia and then to Amacayacu National Park - You will
be transferred from the Leticia Airport to Amacayacu National Park. This
will take about and 1 ½ hours. After arrival at the park and you will have
dinner and a night of relaxation. The following morning you will take a walk
on the Nainekumaw and ceiba Centernaria path.
On this path you will be able to walk through the lowland, and you may
observe this portion of the landscape and its most important features in
respect to the flora and fauna.
You also may be able to see the 450 year old large La Ceiba Tree. There is
also an informal lecture about the National Park and the Amazon Ecosystems.
2nd Day
Spend the day at Amacayacu National Park - During the morning you will have
the opportunity to view birds and all types of indigenous insects of the
Amazon region with this Canopy adventure. On this unique Colombian Amazon
experience you will see the vegetation and biodiversity of this part of the
Amazon river from platforms that are 120 feet high.
This morning tour will include all equipment and a English speaking guide.
In the afternoon, you will also see the Tarapoto and Puerto Narino lakes on
this 6 hour tour by boat. On this tour you may be able to see pink and grey dolphins as well as
about learning about the myths and legends of the indigenous communities of
this region. You will have lunch in Puerto Narino. Dinner and room at the
National Park.
3rd Day
Visit to the home on the lake. After breakfast you will be transported to
the water house on the Peque – Peque. This will be a two hour trip on the
Amacayacu river on the Amazon river and a six hour trip on the Peque- Peque.
You will again be staying overnight on the river.
4th day
Another day at on the Amacayacu Park. After breakfast you will be
transported from the water house to the Decalodge hotel in the town of
Leticia. You will have a free afternoon to explore the town of Leticia and
see how the people of this region live.
5th day
After breakfast, you will be taken
to the Leticia airport for your flight back to Bogota.
