DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN BOGOTÁ
Upon arrival in Bogota you will be welcomed by a bilingual travel guide and transferred to a pleasant and well located hote where you will spend three -3- nights including American breakfast.

DAY 2: BOGOTÁ
We begin with a walk to Bogota’s main square, the Plaza de Bolívar and the government buildings around it, before entering the nearby “Candelaria” old town, the colonial centre of the city. We follow this with visits to San Francisco church and to the world-famous Museo Del Oro (closed on Mondays), which contains more than 30.000 pre-Columbian gold artifacts. We end with a trip by cable car to the summit of Monserrate hill, Bogota’s best-known landmark, with a wonderful view of the whole city and the savannah beyond.

DAY 3: VILLA DE LEYVA
Our third day starts with an early morning departure from Bogota northwards. After 2 hours, we arrive at one of the most significant national monuments in Colombia: the “Boyacá Bridge”. On this bridge Simón Bolívar won his most decisive battle against Spanish settlers. We will visit to Ráquira, a village of quaint and colorful small houses, famous for its pottery and ceramics. Arrival to Villa de Leyva, we will visit the main square and enjoy the magic of this beautifull preserved colonial town. Return to Bogota

DAY 4: BOGOTÁ – ARMENIA (COFFEE REGION)
Morning flight Bogota–Armenia. On arrival, transfer to a coffee-growing farm located near Armenia where we will spend two nights including breakfast. In the afternoon visit of a special coffee growing farm which consists of a technical and practical introduction about the whole coffee cultivation and production process and a visit of the botanical garden with its impressive butterfly raising.

DAY 5: ARMENIA (COFFEE REGION)
After breakfast trip to the Cocora Valley. With breathtaking landscapes which will be explored by a horse riding or walking trip this is one of the most beautiful places in Colombia. Here we will find the impressive “Palma de Cera”, the Colombian national tree and one of the tallest varieties of palm in the world. On the way back to Armenia we will visit Salento a picturesque village in the middle of the coffee growing landscape.

DAY 6: ARMENIA (COFFEE REGION)– SAN AGUSTÍN
After breakfast we fly back to Neiva via Bogota. After that follows a 5 hour overland journey along the Magdalena river to San Agustín. In the countryside surrounding this pleasant rural village we will see some of the most important archeological remains of the whole continent. On arrival in San Agustín, around noon, transfer to a medium-class central hotel. Two nights including American breakfast.

DAY 7: SAN AGUSTÍN
After breakfast, visit of “San Agustín Archaeological Park”, to Mesitas A – B – C and D, the “Fuente Ceremonial de Lavapatas” and the “Archaeological Museum”. Around noon, trip to the nearby village of San José de Isnos which also includes the spectacular landscapes surrounding the “Salto del Mortiño” waterfall. Towards the end of the day, return trip to San Agustín. Time to rest and explore the village.

DAY 8: SAN AGUSTÍN – BOGOTÁ

You can choose to do a morning horseback ride to “El Tablón” and “La Chaquira” archaeological sites, or, alternatively, make a trip to the nearby straits of the Magadalena, the narrowest point the river passes through. The day ends with by an overland return trip to Neiva and flight to Bogota.
